A Proud Moment of Strategy, Discipline, and Excellence

PCEA Nanyuki Academy proudly participated in the 56th Edition of the National Chess Competition held at Mang’u High School after successfully qualifying at the regional level. The competition brought together some of the most talented young chess players from across the country, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their strategic thinking, concentration, and teamwork on a national stage.

The school team was led by the dedicated heads and coaches of the Chess Club, Mr. Murimi and Mr. Joshua, whose guidance and commitment played a key role in preparing the students for the championship. PCEA Nanyuki Academy was represented by the following students:

  • Lewis Gitau
  • Nelson Ndiangui
  • Paul Maina
  • Dalton Gichege
  • Oliver Murungaru
  • Noel Kinyanjui
  • Dalton Ngacha
  • Douglas Kamau

Their participation reflected the school’s continued commitment to nurturing learners beyond the classroom by promoting co-curricular activities that develop critical thinking, confidence, discipline, and leadership skills. The achievement also aligns with the school’s mission “to nurture learners holistically in all aspects of life; intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and morally.” Through activities such as chess, learners are empowered to sharpen their decision-making abilities and cultivate resilience in competitive environments.

PCEA Nanyuki Academy congratulates the team for representing the school with determination and excellence at the national level. Their journey to the championship is a true reflection of the school motto — “Arise and Shine.”
